Feeding Guide

Ample fresh food and water should always be available to satisfy the demands of your pet bird. The food and water cups should be cleaned and re-filled daily with fresh water and fresh seeds to keep your pet bird healthy. To increase palatability, moisten Tropimix with warm water.

Carefully-Controlled Process

Tropimix is made at Hagen Industries. The multifunctional facility includes a state-of-the-art food-extrusion system that winds its way throughout the building on two floors. The equipment includes many processing stations interconnected by conduits and conveyors that move specially-selected quality ingredients through an intricate and carefully-controlled food-making procedure.

The mixing station has a combination of many silos and bins where grains, such as seeds and corn, are stored. The extrusion process consists of cooking the ingredients under temperature and pressure into soft dough which then formed through specific dies to give various shapes and textures.

The feed is then slowly dried and packaged in modified atmosphere (carbon dioxide flush) and air barrier bags to ensure freshness and long shelf life.
