Features of the Flik

RF Remote Controlled

Our RF (radio frequency) remote is built to be FCC compliant and is tested to work within 50 feet of the Flik device. The adhesive velcro strip on the back of the remote allows easy placement and removal of the remote anywhere in your car.

Automatic Brightness Adjustment

The Flik light automatically adjusts its own brightness based on brightness outside. During the day, the Flik shines BRIGHT. At night, the Flik is DIM so you are not a distraction.

Light turns on for 4 seconds once triggered by the wireless remote

Extended Battery Life

The Flik has been programmed to last 3 - 3.5 MONTHS without needing to change the batteries!

The Flik requires 3 AA batteries (not included).

Is This Legal?

Legal Lighting? Yes, in most states. We reviewed every state's aftermarket car lighting regulations and found that a large majority of U.S. states allow aftermarket lighting in their front and back windows, as long as the light is amber yellow and non-flashing. We designed the Flik accordingly. Please check your own state's regulations before using the Flik. You can search "[Your State] aftermarket car lighting" to find your state's website (ending with .gov) to determine if the Flik is legal in your state.

Can I Flik Someone Off? Yes. Check out case Cruise-Gulyas v. Minard, No. 18-2196 (6th Cir. 2019). A federal court ruled that a driver was well within her Constitutional rights to give the bird to a police officer. In fact, when the officer pulled her over and increased her traffic violation (after being given the finger), the court ruled that he ALSO violated her 4th Amendment right to be free from unreasonable seizure. Know your rights (but please don't flik the police).

Adjusting Brightness - Why It Matters

The Flik recognizes the difference between night and day and adjusts its brightness accordingly. We noticed that it is very difficult to see lights during the day. Think about it, if someone shines a flashlight at you on a sunny day, would you notice? How about at night?

We cranked up the brightness of the Flik so the light is visible during the day and reduced the brightness of the Flik so that the light is not blinding or distracting at night. This is achieved through a light sensor on the front of the Flik that automatically triggers the required brightness setting based on the brightness outside.

Driver feedback, simplified.

Increase communication + Increase awareness + Encourage better behavior

Standard issue vehicle signals do not provide driver feedback. By standardizing and increasing the frequency of feedback between drivers, we increase driver communication and awareness. By normalizing the type of feedback between drivers, we reduce the emotional response to that feedback and encourage better behavior on the road.
